Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce kicked off its three-part Green Business Challenge Coffee Series today with a presentation aimed at encouraging businesses to join the annual competition.
Held at George Washington University's Science and Tech campus in Ashburn, the coffee series included presentations including:
- Reducing Reusing, Recycling: A Practical Guide to by Mark Lenko of Semper Technology
- Transportation Tips by Judy Galen of the county's Office of Transportation Services
- Going Green Saves Green by Derek Archer of Lightyear Cleaning
The event also offered attendees, who numbered about 30, the chance to ask questions about the competition, as well as advice about the scorecards used.
Businesses are invited to join the challenge by registering online at http://locogreenbiz.org. Two more coffee series events are planned, with different presenters, on July 31 and Aug. 28. Both will take place 8-10 a.m. at the GWU campus.
