One of this reporter’s favorite musicians, and one of the most accomplished you’ll see on the Acoustic on the Green roster, returns to the stage July 28.
Michael Sheppard has to be considered an integral member of Leesburg’s great musical family, which includes regular AOTG and Jingle Jam concertgoers. We’ve seen him through Grammy and WAMMIE nominations, album recordings and even his engagement to his wife of almost two years—they’ll celebrate that anniversary this October. Now he’s back again, sporting his signature grunge stylings and affable demeanor, one that’s earned him praise from children and adults alike.
Sheppard credits his role in the kid’s band Milkshake as helping expand his repertoire and his understanding of every audience’s universal desire: to “hear good music.” For all his accomplishments, Sheppard remains humble and very approachable, always encouraging his fans to “say ‘Hi!’ Enjoy yourself. Sing along to the [songs] you know, and enjoy the ones you don’t.”
AOTG crowds would do well to follow that advice when the “power/acoustic/alterna-rock” powerhouse takes the stage at 7 p.m.
As always, admission to the show is free and open to the public—lawn chairs, blankets and alcohol-free picnics are welcome and encouraged.
There’s only four more shows left on the AOTG roster after Saturday’s show—for details on all the August acts, visit www.acousticonthegreen.com.
