The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the driver who struck a 15-year-old boy in a crosswalk in Ashburn Friday and then left the scene.
A small silver sedan struck the boy about 4:15 p.m. as he crossed Claiborne Parkway from Portsmouth Boulevard walking toward Breezy Hill Drive, according to the sheriff’s office report. The sedan’s driver was making a right turn from Portsmouth Boulevard onto Claiborne Parkway near Stone Bridge High School. The boy was in the crosswalk.
Investigators said the driver stopped and spoke to bystanders, never getting out of the car, before driving away.
The teenager’s family took him to a nearby emergency room, where he was treated for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
The sheriff's office did not release a description of the driver.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Deputy First Class S. Allen at 703-737-8308.
