The staff members at BoxCart Moving and Storage will be working to help others this weekend and you can help them do that.

On Sunday, Jan. 20, they will be in front of the Giant store at 44110 Ashburn Village Blvd. working to fill an entire truck with food donations that will be delivered to the Loudoun interfaith Relief. The collection will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A key goal is to replenish the food bank shelves in the months after the holiday season when donations are plentiful. The most needed items are canned vegetables, fruits, meat and tuna, rice, beans, pasta and peanut butter.

“All of us at BoxCart are so happy to have an opportunity to give back to our community,” Amy Stowell, vice president of BoxCart Moving & Storage, said. “We can’t wait to witness the generosity we know is abundant in the area!”

The event is supported by the nonprofit Move for Hunger, which helps arrange transportation for donations so food drive organizers don’t incur costs that take away from support to charities.

“It’s just amazing to see how dedicated our moving partners are,” Adam Lowy, executive director of Move For Hunger, said. “We are so excited for BoxCart’s first Fill-A-Truck Food Drive and can’t wait to see the outcome.”

Welcome to the discussion.
