A portion of the Market Station complex in Leesburg was evacuated Friday evening as emergency crews investigated a call reporting smoke coming from a second floor office.

The call was prompted by the alert observations of nine-year-old Katie Culp who saw the grey smoke coming from the doorway to an open office above the Tuscarora Mill restaurant. Her mother called 9-1-1 to report the possible fire.

It appeared the smoke was caused by a faulty air conditioning unit. No fire damage was reported.
