Two 2011 Heritage High School graduates have recently been selected to intern as part of the Virginia Tech “Hokies on the Hill” Undergraduate Internship Program during the spring semester.

Chuck Carlin and Brett Fulcer, both Virginia Tech sophomores, will get an opportunity to work on Capitol Hill and learn first-hand about Congress.

Past students in this program have interned in offices in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, as well as in the government relations offices of private companies.

The students receive 12 credit hours for the program by working a full day Monday through Thursday and attending a Friday seminar that includes guest speakers; visits and tours with government officials.

Carlin and Fulcer are both studying political science at Virginia Tech.

Carlin will intern for Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA) while Fulcer will intern at The Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress.

Welcome to the discussion.
