The Town of Purcellville is moving ahead with athletics fields improvements at Fireman’s Field.

Town Manager Robert W. Lohr Jr., Public Works Director Samer Beidas and public works staff members met last week to discuss phasing of the work so it would not interfere with the Babe Ruth World Series in August. Lohr accordingly will come up with another development plan for review and approval.

The various maintenance and storage sheds dotted around the eastern side of the field, visible from 20th Street, will be consolidated into one large structure, designed to match the siding of the tabernacle. Several covered ticket booths will be constructed at the entrance to the ballfield. The Little League already has made improvements to Haske Field, including a new field watering system, lengthening the back fence to prevent foul balls entering the parking lots and the light boxes in the lot will be encapsulated.

Welcome to the discussion.
