The opening of baseball season in Lovettsville traditionally is a big affair and this year is no exception. The Town of Lovettsville, in partnership with Upper Loudoun Little League, will sponsor the Baseball Opening Day Parade starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Lovettsville Community Center.

The parade will begin at the community center and end at Lovettsville Elementary School, following Broad Way and South Loudoun Street. Residents should expect street closures and brief delays in town during the procession.

Opening ceremonies will follow the parade at the Majors Field next to the school. The Colonel Wesley Fox Young Marines will serve as color guard and mascots Keynote from the Frederick Keys as well as Fetch from Loudoun Hounds will also be on hand. There also will be some special guests and elected officials on hand to throw out first pitches.

The day full of games will start at 11 a.m.
