A woman has been arrested for breaking into a Leesburg Montessori school earlier this month.
Tuesday, Christina Anne Grant, 36, of Leesburg, was arrested and charged with unlawful entry, petit larceny and destruction of property. She was seen by the Loudoun County Magistrate and released on a $7,500 bond. She will be arraigned on the charges Friday.
According to police, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, staff members from the Leesburg Montessori School on Fort Evans Road reported the burglary after finding a glass door broken when they arrived to open the school. Police officers found evidence someone had entered the school and taken items such as clothing and some food products. Detectives determined that while nothing else was taken from the school, the suspect may have cut themselves during the burglary.
Leesburg Police detectives determined the burglary was an "unplanned event", and the school and the students were not targeted.
