Deidra “Dee” Edmonds, age 52 of Charles Town, WV, died September 3, 2013 at her residence, with her husband by her side, after a long courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born on January 25, 1961, in Leesburg, she is the daughter of the late Elizabeth “Anne” McDavid and is survived by her father, Louis McDavid. Mrs. Edmonds was a long time resident of Leesburg, VA, before moving to Charles Town in 2004, after her marriage to Robert “Scott” Edmonds in 2002.
She is survived by her husband Scott Edmonds of Charles Town, WV; son Jamie Campbell of WV, her most special and favor- ite person, her grandaughter Evelyn Campbell. She is also survived by her siblings, Diane McDavid of Winchester, VA, Darryl McDavid of Ranson, WV, Darla Painter of Rippon, WV and Tina Laughlin of Stephens City, VA. She is also survived by two nieces, Jessie Harrison & Sherri Penwell, and two nephews, Andrew & Ryan Murphy.
She was pre-deceased by her son, Daniel “Danny” Campbell.
Dee was a cosmetologist from the age of 17. She worked in Leesburg for decades, which included owning her own salon. In 2001, she started her career with Monroe Technology Center as a cosmetology instructor, taking the classroom of her instructor and friend, Jessie Fuller.
Pallbearers will include Gary Winstanley, Donnie Houser, Steve Tiffany, Chris Thyson, John Shry and Keith Frye. Honorary pallbear- ers are Andrew Murphy and Ryan Murphy,
The family received friends on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville, VA. 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral Servic- es was held at Hall Funeral Home on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Hillsboro, VA.
