A Fort Washington, MD woman was killed Saturday night when a motorcycle on which she was a passenger crashed on Rt. 626 about one half mile south of Rt. 50 in Middleburg, according to Middleburg Police.

Police say that Sherry T. Scott was riding on the back of the motorcycle driven by Derrick E. Scott of Fort Washington, MD, who was travelling south on Rt. 626. According to police, at about 9 p.m. the motorcycle crossed the center line and the northbound lane and struck an embankment. It then slid along the bank, went over a rock outcropping, and hit a highway sign, breaking the sign in half. Sherry T. Scott was flown to the hospital.

Police say that Derick Scott was also flown to Fairfax Hospital where he was listed in serious condition this week. Police had still been unable to interview him on Tuesday. The accident is still investigation.

Six people have been killed on Loudoun highways this year. During the same period in 1997, five people had been killed. Please wear your seatbelt.
